"The Far Site" is the first photography book by Italian photographer Francesco Marchini.

For over a decade (2008-2018), photographer Francesco Marchini documented a group of roman friends dedicated to graffiti. Rather than focusing on their artwork, he captured the spaces and moments they inhabited, emphasizing gestures, emotions, and spontaneous events. His photos span from abandoned industrial sites to archaeological ruins, train yards to residential squats, depicting the blend of vandalism and the struggles of daily life. In his monograph, “The Far Site,” Marchini pairs his black and white photos with semi-autobiographical fictional writing, exploring the narrative potential of these experiences and offering a deeper look into rome’s graffiti scene, beyond its well-known stories.

The book was printed entirely with a risograph printer and is hand-bound in our own studio. The book consists of 68 photos and a text written by Francesco in Italian and translated in English.

Together with the book we are releasing a Gelatin Silver print from one of the photos from the book. The print which is sold together with the book is made in an edition of 30 + 5 AP's is printed by Luce Works in Rome, Italy.
