"The Poole" marks the debut graphic novel by Hanneke Rozemuller and represents the first Riso-printed hardcover book produced entirely in our studio in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. Set in the Forest Poole, the story follows a community governed by strict rules where no one can initiate any activity without the leader's approval. When Populus takes over from the old leader, these long-standing traditions begin to unravel, causing the community to face unforeseen challenges.

As the forest's stability is threatened by these rapid changes, the trees of the Poole must adapt to survive. Hanneke's narrative explores themes of leadership, tradition, and resilience, all brought to life through her distinctive graphic style.
This limited edition Riso-printed book measures 17 x 21.5 cm (6.69'' x 8.46'') and is available in a total of 125 copies. Each book features blue spray-painted spines, adding a unique touch to its handcrafted nature. All copies are signed and numbered by the artist.
